A competition… the final frontier of this issue’s mammoth Star Trek The Next Generation 25th anniversary coverage. And not any old competition. To celebrate a landmark moment in sci-fi TV history we’ve teamed up with Paramount to give five exceptionally jammy humanoids the chance to win a copy of Star Trek: The Next Generation – The First Season in stunning high definition, while one lucky winner will also receive a pair of top-tier tickets for the inaugural Destination Star Trek in London 19-21 October.
Including all 25 episodes from Jean-Luc Picard’s first voyage aboard the Starship Enterprise, across six discs, the Star Trek: The Next Generation – The First Season Blu-ray boxset features incredible high definition images retransferred from original film elements, and visual effects painstakingly recreated from the source material. There’s also exclusive extra content such as archival footage, behind-the-scenes interviews, a gag reel, and an inside look at the making of The Next Generation in shiny HD. It’s every fan’s prime directive to pick it up.
Destination Star Trek London is the inaugural, official three-day event celebrating all things Star Trek. There’ll be themed parties, interactive activities, professional photo shoots, autograph sessions, original sets, props and displays, memorabilia, talks and stunt displays plus more to be announced. But the thing that’s got Trekkers round the globe prepared to brave the angry, angry streets of London is that all five captains will beaming down - William Shatner, Patrick Stewart, Avery Brooks, Kate Mulgrew and Scott Bakula together on stage!
The pair of tickets will give you: access to all three days of the event, tickets to opening ceremony/Captain's talk *, a place at all five individual captain talks, priority seating in the talks/presentations in main auditorium, six in-person autographs**, priority scheduled queuing***, one exclusive rare signed card, one bridge photo shoot, one ticket to stunt show, limited edition print, an exclusive goodie bag, an exclusive gold collectors card, and one ticket to the evening party. Phew!
And what do you have to do to win this incredible prize? Well, it’s quite simple actually. Not so simple that we’re going to ask you a multiple choice question where two of the answers are so ridiculous even if you’d never heard of Star Trek you could get it right (er, not that we’d ever do that). Instead you’ll need to impress us. How? By dressing up as your favourite Star Trek characters of course, and sending us photographic evidence of the results! Now before you all go thinking that sounds too much like hard work, we won’t just be judging entries based on how accurate their Star Fleet uniform is, after all any (rich) Tom, Dick and Harry could buy the authentic thing off fleaBay and pass it off as their own work. We’ll be putting as much weight on ingenuity. Supergluing a Cornish pasty to your head and constructing a bat’leth out of kitchen spatulas will go a long way in this case.
To enter simply click the box marked "browse" below, then upload your entry, preferably as a jpg, though we can accept most formats. Now go and make it so!
